TranSwitch’s Atlanta 2000 Runs Application Code Developed for VxWorks, NetBSD and uITRON

General Info:

MapuSoft’s OS Changer® eliminates the Porting of Legacy Applications by allowing VxWorks, NetBSD and uITRON applications to run on the Atlanta 2000 processor board

Shelton, CT – February 05, 2011 – TranSwitch Corporation (Nasdaq: TXCC) today announced that its Atlanta 2000™ processor family now runs application code developed for the VxWorks, NetBSD and uITRON operating systems. As a result, the cost and time associated with the porting of legacy software to the A2000 Linux environment is significantly reduced, improving time-to-market and ROI for equipment vendors and service providers.

MapuSoft Technologies’ OS Changer product is the enabler for this new feature of the Atlanta 2000. “OS Changer was integrated and tested on Atlanta 2000, to provide an out-of-the-box software migration solution to Linux and the Atlanta 2000 environment,” said Raj Johnson, CEO of MapuSoft. “This will greatly reduce cost, time and risk associated with porting software to the Atlanta 2000 platform.”

“Prior to the introduction of this new capability, manual coding was required to port new applications to Atlanta 2000,” said William McDonald, Director of CPE Product Marketing at TranSwitch. “Now application software developed for legacy operating systems for other processors can run on Atlanta 2000 without any manual intervention, resulting in dramatic reductions in time-to-market and engineering costs. As an added benefit, this new capability significantly increases the addressable market for the Atlanta 2000.”
